Coaches & Administrators
As in the past, athletes of today often mention coaches and sports as the most influential force in their life.  But what is different today is that coaches spend less time really coaching and more time dealing with negatives.  This directly affects the athlete as well, so that he or she receives less quality coaching.  In athletics, the challenge has become how to create a more productive environment.

Athletic performance is based on physical talent, knowledge or experience in the sport, emotional and motivational levels, psychological states and traits, and social and relationship variables.  The TAP helps enhance performance by addressing all of these components except the physical element.  In short, we provide assistance in the areas most overlooked in sports performance.

Troutwine & Associates’ products and services are student or athlete-centered.  Yet you will notice many are designed for the administrator or the coach, not the athlete directly.  This is because we know the best way to impact the athlete is through these channels.  Naturally, the process to achieve a productive environment has accompanying responsibilities.  The TAP and “The Handbook of Athletics” take these into account as well, from the player and parent to the coach and top administrator.

Our products are designed to do the following:
  1. Help enhance the performance of any person, no matter what their physical ability level, on the game field and life in general.

  2. Help define the role and approach parents can play in their child’s athletic success.  To correct the common "parent problems" in sports today.  We provide parents methods to help the performance of their child.

  3. Help coaching professionals understand, predict and coach each individual player by providing a description of each player’s makeup and suggestions based on this individual approach.

  4. Help athletic recruits and colleges determine the best fit for the student.

  5. Provide helpful tools to coaches that save time, improve relations with parents and players and allow more positive impact with athletes.

  6. Develop an integrated "curriculum" for instruction and coaching in any sport.  This ranges from designing age-appropriate drills to an entire developmental sequence.

  7. Inclusion: our products help attract more students to the program.  Our products meet and exceed the needs of minority and women athletes.

  8. Provide objective program evaluations and guidance for continued improvement and excellence in the athletic program.

  9. Articulate, develop and measure benchmarks for the athletic department and programs.  This provides a philosophy for the institution, a way to begin and complete the mission.

  10. Assist administrators in implementation of department and program improvements.
